Vulnerability reduction of the territory
We develop 8 activities to stop deforestation, we protect 1.150.212 hectares of natural forests in the Indigenous Reservation of the Matavén Forest in Colombia while safeguarding its biodiversity and providing education, healthcare, sanitation, food security & several co-benefits for 15.932 indigenous people.
Specific objective: With activities 1, 2 & 3 we look to reduce Matavén vulnerability.
ACTIVITY 1: SURVEILLANCE AND CONTROL OF THE TERRITORY

We protect Matavén territory and its natural resources, identifying and acting against internal and external threats.

ACTIVITY 2: IMPROVEMENT OF THE SYSTEMS OF COMMUNICATIONS, TRANSPORTATION AND INFORMATION

We create better and greater access to information, local markets, health and education services; we increase indigenous communities' participation in REDD+ Matavén activities and other opportunities.

ACTIVITY 3: STRENGTHENING GOVERNANCE OF ACATISEMA

ACATISEMA - Association of Councils and Traditional Indigenous Authorities of the Matavén Forest - is an indigenous association legally recognized by the Colombian government since 2002, representing & leading Matavén political, economic and socio-cultural processes; to ensure the survival of their indigenous peoples and the protection of their natural resources.

Provide economic, educational, technical, logistics and other resources to support ACATISEMA and strengthen its leadership and autonomy to plan and execute Matavén political, economic and sociocultural processes, looking forward to guaranteeing the survival of its indigenous peoples and the protection of their natural resources.
